Holzkirchen - 60,000 cubic metres of excavated earth, 3,000 tonnes of steel and 4 large cranes - since August 2019, 150 construction workers have been working simultaneously at peak times to complete the new Bosch campus in Holzkirchen, south of Munich. On 12 July, representatives of Bosch Engineering and ITK Engineering opened the development campus, which will have a total capacity of more than 1,200 employee places.
The four-storey building offers 17,000 square metres of modern office and laboratory space. It can even accommodate up to 1,650 employees through various sharing options. Both companies focus on innovative development services for industries such as automotive, off-highway, rail and medical technology. The special feature of the site is its campus character - ultra-modern and creative working environments offer employees space for innovation and flexibility and promote close and transparent exchange with external partners. For both companies, Holzkirchen is the second largest site in Germany after their headquarters in Abstatt and Rülzheim.
A milestone for future engineering
The building has several laboratories in the basement, and on the ground floor there is a foyer, a health area, a café, a staff restaurant and an area for customer meetings.
Next to the building is a multi-storey car park with space for around 800 cars and 150 bicycles. There are also 50 charging points for electric vehicles and e-bikes.
More than an office building
The Holzkirchen campus is not only a central place to work, it is also a meeting place. It is a place where togetherness is valued and encouraged. Holzkirchen is therefore much more than just a development site. Creative and productive work is supported in many ways. The diversity of the premises is enriched by the Smart Work concept, which Bosch has already established at other locations. It offers a new, modern way of working that combines the best of both worlds through an intelligent mix of mobile and on-site work.
